Position Descriptions

President
Creates and guides the board to follow the established vision of MIT AIChE. Oversees running of entire MIT AIChE community and works with VPs and individual board members to set and reach goals for each position. Face of organization and undergrad ChemE to the public, the AIChE President must serve as an ambassador for Course 10 and is expected to attend all events held by AIChE if possible. The president shall be the official representative of the group to any other organization and to MIT.

Vice President: External Relations
Helps set vision and goals for all committees that relate to the outside community. Oversees committee functioning and follows up with deadlines, action items, and ensures transition materials and resources are acquired for each position. Provides guidance and assists in engaging the outside community including serving as the main corresponder for the International Sister Chapter Program.

Vice President: Internal
Helps set vision and goals for all committees that relate to MIT student body. Oversees committee functioning and follows up with deadlines, action items, and ensures transition materials and resources are acquired for each position. Helps during class rep elections to encourage people to run for these positions. Expected to assist and attend events held by his/her committees.

Vice President: Public Relations
Helps set vision and goals for all committees that relate to publicity of Course 10 and AIChE. Oversees committee functioning and follows up with deadlines, action items, and ensures transition materials and resources are acquired for each position. Provides guidance and assists in engaging the outside community (expected to attend his/her committees events, including ChemExploration, Booth, etc.). Also responsible for publicizing all AIChE events via email blasts, electronic billboard, and Course 10 Calendar.

Vice President: Administrative/Financial
handles finances and works with ChemE office to determine budgets for each committee; Serves as secretary during meetings (takes and distributes notes from meetings as well as books room locations for events); Updates AIChE Calendar and regularly checks website for necessary updates and additions; will preside over meetings if president is unable to attend

Corporate Relations (Up to 2 candidates)
Organizes the annual Fall seminar series; Organizes joint events with Industry sponsors; networks to increase contact database; Maintains relationships between companies and MIT ChemE students

Intracollegiate Chair
organizes/manages events between members of the MIT AIChE student body as well as between the students and faculty. Tasks include at minimum one mixer per semester, Course 10 apparel, and Holiday skit. Additional duties may include: Course 10 dinners, faculty/student dinners, adviser panels/lunches, etc.

Freshman and Alumni Committee (Up to 2 candidates)
This position aims at increasing the involvement of both potential course 10 majors and also past course 10 alums. We help to organize a variety of departmental exploration seminars to allow freshmen to learn about course 10. We also host events with MIT alumni to show current students the variety of career options open to them.

Class Representatives (Up to 2 candidates per class year)
Responsible for maintaining class moral, publicizing AIChE and AIChE events to class, organizing class social events and a class dinner with faculty every semester. Must maintain own budget within limits designated by Administrative & Financial Officer.

Webmaster
Handling and maintenance of website, update website calendar with events/important dates/exams
